OPIE Manufacturing Group Welcomes AMTIL for Site Visit and Official Platform Launch

OPIE Manufacturing Group was proud to welcome AMTIL and members of Australia’s manufacturing community to our Emu Heights facility on Tuesday, 18 August 2026, for an industry site visit showcasing our people, manufacturing capabilities, technology and future direction.
The event also marked an important milestone for OPIE, with the official launch of our new online platform, bringing our brands, products and manufacturing capabilities together within a connected digital environment.
Opening Our Doors to Australian Industry
Hosted at OPIE Manufacturing Group’s Western Sydney manufacturing facility, the AMTIL Site Visit provided guests with an opportunity to step behind the scenes and see Australian manufacturing in action.
The morning commenced with a welcome from Lorraine Maxwell, Chief Executive Officer of AMTIL, before guests were divided into smaller groups for guided tours of the facility.
The tours provided an opportunity to see firsthand the combination of people, engineering expertise, manufacturing technology and production processes behind OPIE Manufacturing Group and its brands.
Rather than simply talking about manufacturing capability, the objective was to allow visitors to experience the operation directly.

Showcasing OPIE’s Manufacturing Capabilities
Throughout the facility tour, guests were introduced to the breadth of manufacturing undertaken by OPIE and the technology supporting our production capabilities.
For OPIE, investment in advanced manufacturing is about more than individual pieces of machinery. It is about bringing together design, engineering, manufacturing technology, skilled people and increasingly connected digital systems.
The site visit provided an opportunity to demonstrate how these capabilities work together within a real Australian manufacturing environment.
Guests also had the opportunity to see our laser welding capabilities, providing another example of OPIE’s continuing investment in advanced manufacturing technology.
Connecting Manufacturing and Architecture
Following the factory tour, guests returned for presentations from the OPIE team.
Denis Xiao, OPIE Manufacturing Group’s new Architectural Manager, introduced guests to the history of the Group, our manufacturing capacity and capabilities, and some of the opportunities ahead.
Denis’s appointment represents an important part of OPIE’s continued development as we strengthen the connection between our manufacturing capabilities and Australia’s architectural and specification communities.
By working more closely with architects, designers, specifiers and project stakeholders, OPIE aims to help translate design requirements into practical, engineered and manufacturable solutions.

Official Launch of the New OPIE Online Platform
The event also provided the setting for the official launch of OPIE Manufacturing Group’s new online platform.
The platform represents a significant step forward in how customers, architects, partners and the wider industry can interact with OPIE digitally.
It brings together OPIE Manufacturing Group, our brands, products and capabilities within a more connected online environment, making it easier to discover what we manufacture and the solutions available across the Group.
To mark the occasion, we decided to do something a little different from a traditional ribbon cutting.
Instead of scissors and a physical ribbon, we created a virtual ribbon-cutting experience.
AMTIL CEO Lorraine Maxwell was invited to make the ceremonial first click, triggering the virtual ribbon cutting on screen and officially marking the launch of the new platform.
It was a fitting way to connect two important parts of OPIE’s future: advanced physical manufacturing and an increasingly connected digital experience.

A New Chapter for OPIE
The new platform is more than a website refresh.
It is part of a broader strategy to create a stronger digital foundation for OPIE Manufacturing Group and provide a more connected experience across our brands and capabilities.
Visitors can explore OPIE Manufacturing Group and our Australian manufacturing capabilities alongside our established brands, including Boscotek, Bosco Office & Storage, Lectrum, Gilkon, Argent, SMC Stainless and Bonwick & Co.
As the platform continues to develop, it will play an increasingly important role in connecting customers and industry partners with OPIE’s products, engineering expertise and manufacturing capabilities.
Bringing Australian Manufacturing Together
Events such as the AMTIL Site Visit are valuable because they bring manufacturers, industry representatives and technology leaders together in the environment where manufacturing actually happens.
They create opportunities to exchange ideas, demonstrate capabilities and build stronger connections across Australia’s manufacturing sector.
We would like to thank Lorraine Maxwell and the AMTIL team for the opportunity to host the event and for their continued work supporting and connecting Australian manufacturers.
We also thank everyone who attended and took the time to explore our facility, meet our team and learn more about OPIE Manufacturing Group.
Finally, a big thank you to the OPIE team who worked behind the scenes to prepare the facility, conduct the tours, demonstrate our capabilities and make the morning possible.
